In recent years, significant investments have been made by the European Commission and European member states to create a pan-European e-infrastructure supporting multiple research communities. As a result, a European e-infrastructure ecosystem is currently taking shape, with communication networks, distributed grids and HPC facilities providing European researchers from all fields with state-of-the-art instruments and services that support the deployment of new research facilities on a pan-European level. However, the accelerated proliferation of data – newly available from powerful new scientific instruments, simulations and digitization of library resources –, has created a new impetus for increasing efforts and investments in order to tackle the specific challenges of data management, and to ensure a coherent approach to research data access and preservation. EUDAT aims to address these challenges and exploit new opportunities using its vision of a Collaborative Data Infrastructure.

The current version of NanoTCAD ViDES is a python module, which integrates the C and Fortran subroutines already developed in the past version of the NanoTCAD ViDES simulator, which is able to simulate nanoscale devices, through the self-consistent solution of the Poisson and the Schroedinger equations, by means of the Non-Equilibrium Green’s Function (NEGF) formalism.

The module developed so far has a set of predefined functions, which allow to compute transport in:

   * Graphene Nanoribbons
   * Carbon Nanotubes
   * Two-dimensional graphene FET
   * Two-dimensional bilayer graphene FET

The user can anyway define his own device and material through the exploitation of the Hamiltonian command, which allows to define whatever material within the tight-binding approach.

This applet generates the atom positions for nano-tubes and nano-cones. Its purpose is to give you the xyz-coordinates for use in other structure viewing programs. You may specify the chiral vector for nano-tubes and the disclination angle for cones. A value for ncone>1 will generate stacked cones with dZ as stacking distance. The calculation of the nano-cones might take a while depending on the specified cone height and disclination angle.The stereo-mode is for parallel-view. If you prefer the cross-eye view you may swap the sides of the images with a right mouse button drag, when in stereo mode.

Kwant is a Python package for numerical calculations on tight-binding models with a strong focus on quantum transport. It is designed to be flexible and easy to use. Thanks to the use of innovative algorithms, Kwant is often faster than other available codes, even those entirely written in the low level FORTRAN and C/C++ languages.

Tight-binding models can describe a vast variety of systems and phenomena in quantum physics. Therefore, Kwant can be used to simulate metals, graphene, topological insulators, quantum Hall effect, superconductivity, spintronics, molecular electronics, any combination of the above, and many other things.
